Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham and more recently choreographers such as Matthew Bourne are all names of famous modern/contemporary dance choreographers/dancers – past and living.  Modern/contemporary dance in theatres today has become increasingly popular and today’s dancers are expected to be versatile in a variety of dance genre – not just ballet.

Children who start modern dance when they are young (ie the age of 7) tend to feel less inhibited about free movement compared to those who start later in life; an early introduction to modern dance opens many doors; both as a dancer and as an audience of the future.

Miss Amy’s fun energetic modern dance classes use contemporary music to explore movement, rhythm, space, dynamics, self expression and individual interpretation whilst developing a strong and disciplined technique.

Please help us publicise the class by telling your friends about us.  The class will run termly at a cost of £6.50 for children already attending ballet at SCD and £8.00 for children only attending one class at SCD.
